Montera Sports Management
Why We're Different

For Amateurs

For Amateurs

Let's face it... all Sports Management Companies are in business to make money. It is certainly our hope that, at some point in your hockey career, you sign a Professional contract and choose to have Montera Sports Management represent you.

Where we’re different is that we understand that we have to spend money to make money.  We invest significant time and dollars in each and every one of our Prospects, even though we know that only a small percentage will ever actually sign a professional contract.  Our differentiator is the Montera Hockey Academy.   All of our Amateur Player services are at MINIMAL COST to you or your parents, including:

  • The Montera Hockey Academy, (May-August) exclusively for Montera Prospects.
  • During the season, we film one of your games each month.  Then we do a professional breakdown of every shift and review it with you one-on-one.
  • We provide off-ice conditioning and nutrition programs, designed by industry experts.
  • We talk to you and your parents weekly.
  • We attend many of your tournament games.
  • We take an interest in your non-hockey life, whether that be school-related or involvement in other sports.
  • We promote you to Canadian and U.S. colleges and Prep Schools.
  • We negotiate your scholarship package.
  • We promote you to OHL and QMJHL organizations.
  • We help you prepare for the OHL and QMJHL drafts.
  • We continue to support you through college or Junior Hockey preparing for the next step.
  • NHL draft preparation.

Obviously, since there is a significant cost to us providing these services, we are very selective about who can become a Montera Prospect. We will work with no more than 20 amateur hockey prospects in any one age category. If we have spoken to you or your parents, we truly believe that you have special talent and a real shot at playing professional hockey.
