In Jim's 32 years of business experience he has led a $100 million public company with global operations, built a technology company from the ground up, and owned and operated a number of his own companies.
Having negotiated numerous multi-million dollar contracts with Fortune 500 executives, Jim is known for his no-nonsense approach to accountability and his "brutal" honesty. He treats his clients as family and takes their success personally.
A graduate of the Henson College Business Management Program at Dalhousie University, Jim is responsible for all Finance, Administration, and Operations functions at Montera Sports. He is also responsible for representing our Professional Athletes.
Dave is a former rookie-of-the year with the Brockville CJHL team and captain of the University of Ottawa GG’s. His hockey background is very broad, having served as coach, manager, administrator, and referee at all levels over the past 30 years.
Previously Director of Player Personnel for the Brockville Braves, Dave has served as an unofficial liaison for several local players who have graduated from the CJHL to NCAA.
His contacts within the US Prep School and NCAA Hockey coaching ranks are extensive. A school teacher for more than 30 years, Dave takes pride in helping families deal with the pressures of making career decisions at a young age.
Mike ranks second all-time in games played for the Peterborough Petes. During his time in Peterborough Mike was selected to both the Under-17 provincial and Under-18 National teams.
Selected in the third round, 60th overall, by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1987 Entry Draft, Mike signed two NHL contracts, with Chicago and Pittsburgh, and spent the majority of those six seasons playing in the AHL.
Since hockey, Mike has found success in the business world, working with Fortune 500 companies such as Canon and Xerox. In 2007, Mike was selected as class valedictorian for the MBA class at Queens University.
Hockey ProgramsRob was the Vancouver Canucks' 1st round pick in 1987 (24th overall). He played professional hockey for 15 years with the Vancouver Canucks, Ottawa Senators, and L.A. Kings, as well as some time in Germany. Rob is now a full-time amateur scout for the Phoenix Coyotes.
Responsible for the Hockey programs of the Montera Hockey Academy, Rob works closely with the Peak Performance team and all of our instructors to ensure that each prospect has an unmatched experience.
As the Program Coordinator for The Peak Hockey Program, Pat brings a wealth of teaching knowledge. Past experiences include working with many professional and elite teams, athletes and coaches. Pat has developed specific on-ice training methods that target specific energy systems, muscle groups, angles and balance points to enhance skating and hockey skill performance and conditioning.
He has served as Director of Hockey Operations and Head Instructor for the Elite Performance Hockey Program since 1999. His programs specialize in a Skill Based Approach to learning and development.
A nationally certified coach, Pat has served as a professional hockey skills and skating coach for over 10 years and has coached for over a decade from Initiation to Junior "A" throughout Eastern Ontario and the Ottawa Valley. He is a former Coach and Director of Player Development in the Central Junior "A" Hockey League and has Tier II Junior "A" playing experience along with "Speak Out" Program Certification with Hockey Canada.
Jamie’s playing experience combined with his formal education makes him a valuable part of the Peak Hockey Program. His hockey background includes playing for the University of Ottawa Gee Gees Men’s Varsity team for four seasons and Tier II - Jr. A in the CJHL for 2 seasons.
He possesses an Undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics and has a Master’s of Arts degree in Human Kinetics, both from the University of Ottawa. He works with hockey players to develop on-ice abilities, improve physical strength and conditioning, and be better mentally prepared to perform at their potential.
ScoutingSteve was a first round OHL selection by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and a 6th round NHL pick by the Montreal Canadiens. After 5 years in the OHL, AHL and IHL, he finished his playing career with the Canadian National Team under Dave King.
A scout for the Guelph Storm for the past 3 years, Steve was a regional scout prior to that for OHL Central Scouting, overseeing the Ottawa territory.
Having been recruited by NCAA programs like Harvard, Colgate, Clarkson, St.Lawrence University, and Michigan State, to name a few, Steve knows what it takes to be given every opportunity hockey can provide. He also knows full well how difficult the decision-making process is when those opportunities present themselves to a 16 year old!
Steve is responsible for identifying the elite players that will receive invitations to the Montera Hockey Academy. He personally oversees our scouting program in the Ottawa Valley and provides direction to our Regional Scouts in rating players and tracking their progress throughout the season.
An accomplished athlete in his own right, Greg is representative of the many parents who have spent thousands of hours and even more thousands of dollars supporting his son’s love of sport. Having been fortunate enough to see his son become an elite athlete, he joined the countless parents who really did not know where to turn for advice and guidance. Sure, many have offered “help”, but who to trust?
Greg will continue to spend hundreds of hours each month in local rinks, scouting talent and potential. He hopes to be an inspiration and trustworthy source of information for the people who are now in the place he has been, searching for honest answers to help guide their son’s future.
Michel is a former draft pick of the Moncton Wildcats. He also played University hockey with the University of Moncton Blue Eagles, with whom he went to the CIS National Championships.
A Financial Planner, Michel graduated from the University of Moncton with a degree in Finance. He will be a familiar face to many in the rinks of the Acadian peninsula.
Born and raised in Dartmouth NS, Jeff has over 20 years experience competing, coaching, and mentoring in the world of elite athletics. He has spent countless hours in the rinks throughout Canada and the Eastern United States watching elite hockey players, speaking with scouts, agents and hockey parents. It is that experience that has given him a true understanding of what it takes to make it to the next level in the world of elite hockey.

A successful athlete, businessman and father, Trevor brings more than 30 years of competitive sports experience to Montera Sports Management. A university graduate with a High Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree, Trevor also became a certified fitness instructor and graduate of the In Sharp Focus training, "Mental Strategies for Reaching Peak Performance". As a former sportscaster with Rogers Cable, he has had the opportunity to cover a variety of hockey in the Ottawa area and profile some of the region's top athletes. His passion and dedication is focused on the success and guidance of each player and their parents/guardians involved with the Montera Sports Management program.
A 7th round pick of the Detroit Red Wings in 1990, Jason played in 757 regular season games and 34 playoff games for Detroit, Anaheim, Ottawa, Nashville, and Boston. A smooth skating and skilled defenceman, Jason now operates his own Hockey School. He is also co-host of the Team1200 afternoon radio show called "The Healthy Scratches" in Ottawa.
Host of "A" Morning, Ottawa's #1 Morning Show, Kurt has more than 30 years experience in TV and Radio. In addition to hosting ASN's "Breakfast Television" in Halifax and "Live at 5" in Calgary, Kurt has had numerous stints as a Sports Achor and Reporter.
A co-founding Partner at Labarge Weinstein Professional Corporation, Randy acts as general corporate and securities counsel for numerous companies, including Adherex Technologies Inc., Axentra Corporation, Energate Inc., Liquid Computing Corp., Neterion, Inc., NUVO Network Management Inc., Skywave Mobile Communications Inc. and Trigence Corp.
A graduate of Harvard and Osgoode Hall, Randy played defense on the Harvard Hockey team from 1983-1987. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins and spent 3 full seasons in the IHL before going to Law School.
From 1985 to 1991, John successfully competed on international golf tours in Canada, Australia, Asia, South Africa and the United States. Along with numerous professional victories, career highlights include a career low 62 in a professional event in Melbourne, Australia. Before turning professional he was one of Canada’s top amateur and junior golfers.

A division of John’s LearningLinks company, New Edge Performance (www.newedgeperformance.org) has developed the world’s first assessment instrument to measure the high performance emotional intelligence indicators in athletes - and coach the athletes to higher performance. John will be working with us to do the EQSI (Emotional Intelligence Sports Inventory) on each of our athletes, and developing individual action plans to improve on all aspects of mental preparation for hockey’s highest levels.
